So with perfect timing, the T3/Inside Information Advisor Software Survey for 2026 just came out!
I have them all here if you’re interested in viewing this year vs. past years:
…And gave me the chance to review all the survey results against the list of tech I had prepared… nothing changed really - the data mostly supported everything I had chosen :)
Originally, I wasn’t going to publish all my recommendations publicly - just have them in the book, but the book was stuck… and I decided to just start writing up “The Ultimate Stack” and ended up with a 3-part series…
Which has helped tremendously for thinking through my overall goal for the book — alongside the actual tech I’ll be recommending… and get this book outline moving.
Back to that “on being stuck” part… Here’s a fantastic video about working with “the Muse” to create stuff… it doesn’t always cooperate.
On Pricing:
So Cornelius Graubner suggested I add in pricing info to the stack, which led me to creating this Google doc:
which then led me to adding in my Real Tech Stacks data…
and recording the Loom at the top of this post.
Part III - Additional Tools
Let’s be honest, this stack is already too big, and we’re only halfway there…
But advisors solve a lot of different problems for their clients… and that has—up ‘til now—required specialized tools for each problem.
Here’s the rest of the stack:
I’ll be explaining more why I chose each of these specifically in the book, but for now… at least you’ve got a list.
Sure, there are 10-20 categories of tools I haven’t picked one for, but after seeing one firm literally pick a tool in just about every one of the 36 categories, I realized… there’s got to be a better way.
You don’t need a tool in every category!
The fewer the better, IMO.
Alright, now… FOR REAL… I’ma write this book.
Cheers,
Joe
