Introduction
Think More, Prompt Less
I did that thing where I wrote this by hand… by candlelight… here’s proof (minus the candles, but replaced with an Excel acrylic block):
This seems like an appropriate place to bring some serious writing into the mix, i.e. Bob Veres (check out the right column):
If you’d like to read the whole thing, let me know, it’s hilarious!
Think More, Prompt Less
Do you ever feel like we’re racing like mad toward the wrong destination?
It’s Mad Max 2026 all over again!
The word thieves, the fake intelligence, the follow-up emails that nobody actually wants.
Imagine email didn’t exist.
…
…
…
Dreamy, isn’t it?
Technology, by nature, makes everything easier and so there’s more of it.
More emails, more meetings, more blog posts, more AI-created life-sucking mess.
There’s more to do than ever, more ways to do it, and a zillion task-tracking, habit tracking, email management tools than ever.
Maybe we should pull this Mad Max caravan over and have a think.
Where are we going? Why are we going there? Does “there” even exist?
Are we creating “there” by the tyranny of the urgent—and the important was thrown overboard a couple deserts ago?
Josh Brown was killing it before he had access to Claude, Chat, and Gemini.

Will these tools get him somewhere faster? Is faster better?
The journey is the point, so I’m told. So rushing the journey… why?
Now I like BHAG’s as much as the next guy, but at this rate, we’ll end up with a Big Hairy Audacious nothing-burger.
Everybody’s taking shortcuts, then we’re shortcutting the shortcuts.
Eventually, humans will be the only thing left to cut.
And then the humans that are shorting out and being cut have a decision to make.
Will we continue on this Mad Max caravan or will we choose another path?
